JANINE WESSELMANN

Janine Wesselmann, known by both critics and collectors for her parodies of European and American social life, has been listed in Who's Who of American Women since 1983. She has been painting in oils since the age of six. Janine is the first American woman artist to show at the Exposition des Printemps, Orange, France (1994) and at the Centro Culturale d'Italia, Rome (1995). In 1997 she was named Cultural Emissary to France. Janine is also the first American women artist to be accepted in the Permanent Collection of the Museum d' Art Modern de la Ville de Paris.
